Frost hollow hall- Book review
Dear reader,
Today I will be reviewing a book called frost hollow hall by Emma Caroll.
I found this book when looking through some recommendations. To be honest, I ordered it and couldn't be bothered to read it because I had a lot of books lined up. I finally started reading it on Wednesday last week and I finished it on the following Saturday. If I'm honest it started off great and then lost me 1/2 way through.
The book is about a young girl named Tilly (Matilda) who has been dared to go ice scatting on a lake where 10 years earlier a boy (master kit) died. Tilly manages to fall through the lake and is saved by, of all things, kits ghost. He then haunts her dreams, telling her that he can not be at peace until the truth about kits unexpected and untimely death is revealed. Tilly sets off on an adventure to bring peace to poor kits ghost but will she find out things she wishes she never knew?
I started this book with high hopes that it wouldn't disappoint and at first, it didn't. I enjoyed its old-fashioned writing style and creative ideas. When I got to the middle I was a little bit bored and unsure whether I could be bothered to finish it. I was about to put it back in the bookcase when it supprised me with a terrific plot twist. The end of the book was satisfactory and well written. overall, I enjoyed this book and will most likely look into the authour and their other pieces.
