Orbiting jupiter- book review.

Image
Dear reader, today I will be reviewing the book, orbiting Jupiter by Gary G. Schmidt. This short story is a heart-breaking tale of a boy called Jack, his 14-year-old foster brother Joeseph and Joesephs baby girl Jupiter. The book is about abuse, brotherhood, teen-pregnancy (loosely) and love. I cried for a solid hour when I finished this book. It's such an impactful story with a beautiful meaning and tear-jerking ending. I loved this book, and I recommend it a lot! Love, Girl with thoughts

the harry potter series

This is gonna be making this blog over around 10 weeks, I've never read the harry potters so I really didn't know what to expect. I know there is a huge fizz around the books but I always thought they just were not worth reading. However, this Christmas my mum brought me all the books and told me to get on with it, and well here I am. Week 1: Harry Potter and the philosophers stone Status: Finished! blog: I really liked it, I thought it was fun and uplifting, to say the least. I really like the characters, Hermione's my favourite, obviously. She's a book worm, smart and has crazy hair like me! I am really happy I decided to read them. Week 2: Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets Status: Finished! blog: Again I really, really liked it. I liked the plot twists, the adventure and how I was never bored. Very good! Week 3: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban status: working on it blog: really liking it so far but had less time to read it and ...

A spoonful of murder- book review

Image
Dear reader, today I will be reviewing the 5th (i think) of the murder mystery books: a murder most unladylike. by Robin Stevens. Girl with thoughts rating: 5 stars! The book is set in the colourful streets of hong kong, where Daisy and Hazel find themselves in the middle of, yet again another marvellous disaster. I found this not only an uplifting read but one filled with lots of fun and culture. This addition to the series was different but shared the same good-hearted humour and old-timey style that carries on throughout these wonderful books. The book is a brilliant carry on to this marvellous series, I enjoyed it thoroughly and can't wait to see what Stevens has lined up for us next time, for our two favourite characters; Hazel and Daisy! love, Girl with thoughts            x

Frost hollow hall- Book review

Dear reader, Today I will be reviewing a book called frost hollow hall by Emma Caroll. I found this book when looking through some recommendations. To be honest, I ordered it and couldn't be bothered to read it because I had a lot of books lined up. I finally started reading it on Wednesday last week and I finished it on the following Saturday. If I'm honest it started off great and then lost me 1/2 way through. The book is about a young girl named Tilly (Matilda) who has been dared to go ice scatting on a lake where 10 years earlier a boy (master kit) died. Tilly manages to fall through the lake and is saved by, of all things, kits ghost. He then haunts her dreams, telling her that he can not be at peace until the truth about kits unexpected and untimely death is revealed. Tilly sets off on an adventure to bring peace to poor kits ghost but will she find out things she wishes she never knew? I started this book with high hopes that it wouldn't disappoint and at firs...
