Red, White and Royal Blue (book review)
Dear Reader,
First off, you know what a sucker I am for Gay romance, it’s actually my favourite concept to read about- in the world. This book was so so so up my street, it’s no surprise I absolutely loved it.
This is such an adorable book but it’s also got so many other characteristics that make it so good! It was such a creative idea of a prince and a first son, I’ve never read anything quite like it. It’s also so fun and really heart-warming.
In the beginning, I loved Alex’s and Henry’s late-night talks, they were absolutely hilarious. It was a perfect kindling for the flame. I was a little bit annoyed when they used that whole clichĂ©; ‘what would you be doing right now if you weren’t super famous and rich?’ thing. But they totally made up for it when they kissed! My heart literally sawed around the galaxy when that happened.
A little further into the book Alex brought up a really good point, what are the royals last names? I googled it and its quite funny.
As much as I loved Alex and henrys relationship, I also absolutely loved the dynamic between Nora, June and Alex. They were so different from each other and there personality’s where so well written, they made for an amazing side plot.
I actually found out a lot about politics and I wasn’t bored out of my brain.
I think the most impactful scene was the bit where Alex flies to England after the lake house, that scene had me on the edge of tears the whole time.
There is a lot of sex in this book and a lot of swearing, but neither are too descriptive, I would keep that in mind.
The re-election bit at the end was so perfect and it wasn’t too predictable- like, you could see it going either way.
The only disappointing bit was we didn’t get an engagement but, I have my fingers crossed for a sequel where maybe that will happen.
I can so see this book as a film, omg that would be the best film- ever.

I think this book is all about love, self-discovery, growing and helping others grow. It had some really important points, like how the monarchy’s ways are out-dated and need to be changed if we, as a country want to grow.
5/5 stars
