the harry potter series

This is gonna be making this blog over around 10 weeks,
I've never read the harry potters so I really didn't know what to expect.
I know there is a huge fizz around the books but I always thought they just were not worth reading.
However, this Christmas my mum brought me all the books and told me to get on with it, and well here I am.

Week 1:
Harry Potter and the philosophers stone
Status: Finished!

blog:
I really liked it, I thought it was fun and uplifting, to say the least. I really like the characters, Hermione's my favourite, obviously. She's a book worm, smart and has crazy hair like me!
I am really happy I decided to read them.

Week 2:
Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets
Status: Finished!

blog:
Again I really, really liked it. I liked the plot twists, the adventure and how I was never bored. Very good!

Week 3:
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
status: working on it

blog:
really liking it so far but had less time to read it and it hasn't gripped me as much as the other two.

Week 4:
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
status: finished!

blog:
Okay, I can't lie, I was a little bored at the end only because I watched the film and new the whole time that Sirius wasn't the murderer, but still really liked it. Just started the 4th book today and am liking it so far….

Week 5:
Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire
status: Finished!

blog:
 I absolutely loved it! I think that it was the best one yet. I'm a little bit intimidated by the next one, it's 800 blommin' pages!

Week 6:
Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix
status: working on it...

blog:
I am around 400 pages in and it's really good so far! I hate professor Umbridge with a passion and can't wait to see how they get rid of her. My birthdays in a week and I'm getting all the films, I can't wait!

week 7:
Harry Potter and the 1/2 blooded prince
status: finished!

blog: I finished Order of the Phoenix on Tuesday and I've been updating every Sunday. I really liked this book and I was reluctant to read 1/2 blooded prince because it sounded a bit like a filler but it still was really good! I can't wait to read the last one, I have very high hopes for it.

Week 8:
Harry Potter and the deathly hallows.
status: I'm sorry.

blog:  I got really bored of the harry potter books, I wanted something different so when I was 3 chapters into the deathly hallows I put a bookmark in and picked up something else. I promise that one day I will reread the deathly hallows but not this time.

Thank you for coming with me on this journey of the wizarding world, I loved it!

Just for December by Laura Jane Williams: review Dear reader,  To Start with, thank you so much for the lovely girls at Avon Harper Collins for gifting me this proof around the holidays! This book was absolutely delightful, and extremely well timed. I cracked open this book on the same day the skies decided to comply with Michael Bublé and while it might not be a white Christmas, as the rain seems to have washed it away now, it made to be pretty idyllic conditions to read this book. I went into this book feeling festive and ready for something to give me all the fuzzy Christmas feelings, which it provided along with a lot more feelings than I predicted. Williams manages to craft cliches and worn-out tropes to make them seem like nothing of the sort and in fact- revive them. The first two stories for me provided little interest, a point at which usually I would choose to DNF and call my loses. However, something about the writing, simple but almost translucent into the lives of these individuals, gave me the impression that it had more to give despite the seemingly stagnant story endings.  I think the best way to describe my growth to loving this book is recognising the beauty within its simplicity. As a predominantly YA reader myself, I couldn't help but expect this book to tie up in a perfect interloping knot at the end.
