I read 7 books in 2 1/2 weeks-OWLs Are Over
Dear Reader,
I did it. I read 7 books in 2 and a half weeks. How? I do not know. I don't think I will ever finish a book ever again. I feel like I literally went to freshers week and got drunk of fictional love stories and then I felt the hangover coming and I decided to never sober up so that I would never get the hangover and I read all those books really realllly fast and now I am dead. Well kind of.
So, If you are thinking of doing OWLs next year or the NEWTs in August I would recommend a few things:
-pick shorter books, this will generally just give you more motivation to carry on when you finish them and will make you more likely to pick up your book as it is less daunting. (unless your dauntless haha divergent humour)
-Don't fudging start 2 weeks late you absolute idiot- I'm addressing myself by the way. Actually, better yet- don't start 2 weeks late and then pick the hardest one where you have to read 7 books in the remaining 2 and a bit weeks you wally, again talking to myself here.
-Don't pick books that are the 1st in a series (I did this for 4 of my books because I AM STUPID) this made me spend literally 3 days just having a mental argument with myself whether I should do the OWLs or give up, buy the entire book series and lock myself in my room for the next few weeks. Instead, you should pick books that are at the end of a book series or in the middle, Better yet. pick a stand-alone.
-Pick up that book that you've been meaning to read for bloomin' ages. I did this for City of ashes- actually really enjoyed it and if I hadn't done that I probably would have waited another year to continue that series. But I didn't- HA! Suck on that future Issy that wasn't obsessed with Jace Wayland! I'm sorry I told you I'm really losing it.
-Get involved girl! (or whatever) Get your butt on bookstagram or book twitter or whatever and find people who are doing the same thing as you, I assure you they are out there. Join a group chat, do a buddy read, encourage your mates to join you or make new ones from it! It's such a great opportunity to meet new people and share views on something you all love. In my case, Jace Wayland.
-DO NOT DO WHAT I DID. Please, don't. I am so burnt out right now. Space and pace people that's what it's all about.
So If you were looking for a wrap up these are the books I read in owls:
-The selection
-The cruel Prince (omg)
-Obsidio
-Serpent and Dove
-City of Ashes
-A court of thorns and roses
-Empire of storms (ikr)
Seriously though I must have read like 4k pages, absolutely mad.
I'm hoping to be posting some miny reviews for all the books I read really soon so stay tuneeeed.
Until next time-
