Radio Silence (book review)

Dear reader,

First off, this book was not what I expected. I thought it was going to be about a girl suffering from depression. Turns out, I was completely wrong, as usual.

First thing I noticed about this book was how very British it is. The vocab is extremely proper and its very made in Chelsea. I am British so I found it very relatable.

I really liked our main character and I loved Radio. It’s a great book because there’s no real evil like a monster or something, it’s just teens dealing with insane parents and growing up issues but it’s still interesting. I thought at times where wasn’t a lot going on and it was not boring but a bit like; oh, is that the big plot twist I’ve waited 100 pages for? Well that’s underwhelming.

It was cute, but I don’t really get the hype around it. I enjoyed it but I think it could have been shorter. I really loved the end though, I thought it was a really good closing statement with Frances getting into art college. I think it’s important for people to write books about university and isolation, but I wasn’t too interested in that.

I love this youtuber called paperback dreams and she put me on to this book but I’m not to sure what was soooo great about it.

I’d probably rate it 3/5 stars just because of the lack of events.

Love

x
