Lola and the boy next door by Stephanie Perkins (book review)
(contains spoilers!)
Dear reader,
today I'm going to be reviewing Lola and the boy next door.
Synopsis:
Lola Nolan is a budding costume designer, and for her, the more outrageous, sparkly, and fun the outfit, the better. And everything is pretty perfect in her life (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighbourhood. When Cricket, a gifted inventor, steps out from his twin sister's shadow and back into Lola's life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.
What I liked:
I really liked hearing about Lolas dress and fashion, as a bit of a fashion nerd myself it was a really fun thing to read about and I enjoyed that aspect of it. I thought Cricket was great and I fancied max so much for the first 1/2. Oh my gosh, I was soooooooooooooooooo happy when I found out that St.clare and Anna were in this book.
What I felt meh about:
I thought Lola was a bit annoying and I didn't like her very much. I think she was right in cricket is to good for her and her break up with max was terribly written.
What I recommend you do:
When you read this book, go on youtube and search Lola and the boy next door dream cast, they got it so right.
Overall verdict: 4.52/5 stars.
