Anna and the french kiss by stephanie perkins (book review)
today I'm going to be reviewing Anna and the french kiss.
Synopsis:
Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris--until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all...including a serious girlfriend.
But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?

What I liked:
I've been to Paris 3 times now and it's my favourite place in the whole world. So, this book being set there made it so fun to read and slightly cultural. (Notice the slightly) I loved the whole boarding school vibe and the other characters like Josh made it more interesting than just a mushy romance. I think St. Clair is my favourite of all love interests, he will always be on my fictional boyfriend list. I liked that Anna is not that annoying and that she has her little geeky film thing and she's not just a basic witch. Another thing I loved about this book was the feels I got from it, I mean I was on a high the whole time reading it.
What I felt a little uncomfortable with:
Now don't get me wrong, I love St. Clair but the emotional cheating was not okay. No relationship should be built on a breakup. I understand all of us readers naturally hated Ellie because she was an obstacle but in reality, she got dumped because her boyfriend found a new girl. Which sucks, for anyone.
overall verdict: 4.82/5
