All about Karen M. Mcmanus
Dear reader,
today I will be reviewing two books (two can keep a secret & one of us is lying ) both by Karen M. Mcmanus. Karen is currently a YA writer who focuses on teen-mystery, both of her books are based on small-town murders and disappearances.
One of us is lying is about a murder that happens in detention with 5 completely different students, all of them now suspects. The story is told in the 4 survivors points of view and there are plenty of sub-plots running alongside the murder.
Two can keep a secret is completely different. A pair of twins move to their mothers home town to live with their grandmother when their mother lands her self in a rehabilitation centre. they arrive in a town that never moved on from a missing girl and a murder, that could be linked. The town is picture-perfect, but it's hiding secrets. And before school even begins for Ellery, someone has declared open season on homecoming, promising to make it as dangerous as it was five years ago. Then, almost as if to prove it, another girl goes missing.

I'm not going to talk about the books separately because I have pretty much the same view for both of them. I love them! There fun, mysterious and really intriguing. I liked one of us is lying more because of a certain romance that I adored and I felt more connected with the characters. However, I still loved two can keep a secret because it stuck with the theme the whole way through and I was never distracted. I also liked the setting of Echo-ridge and the characters were great!
Rating:
Two can keep a secret: 4/5
One of us is lying: 4.5/5
