Why I Read
welcome,
today I'm going to be talking about books.
lots and lots of book.
now listen, I know I said I wouldn't do anything basic like top-10-books or anything like that, and I'm not this blog is about why its important to read and how it's really helped me and yes i will be talking about some of my favirite books but there not books life girl online or everything, everything (both good books but not great.)
so, why is it important to reed.
in primary school, i had really bad spelling disclecsea with pretty much everything but what i always got wrong was my bs and ds. I was in a lot of extra help groups but they never helped. and now i know why . i didnt want to know what it was. as in when someone told me it was the wrong I would just say oh well no one cares or so? i could not be told anythng. i was a very stubborn child.
then there was high school. I had to learn to spell, i knew it but i didnt want to. so the summer holidays before school started i ordered about 12 books of amazon and challenged myself to reed them all before school started. and so it began. i finished them all in 2 weeks and damanded more, i was obsessed! weather it was the smell, the ideas or the motovation it gave me, i loved it. Every single part of it. so after that, i started to delve into the authours reading there books then there friends then there sequels. soon i started joining online book cluds for free and seeing what they had to offer. when school started i had reed over 25 books that summer; thats alot for 6 weeks!
after that, i found the love of my life; charity shops. there i found old books new books brand new books and scruffy books as well as loads of hidden treasures. And i was helping a cause so it was great! in two years ive built up quiet the collection. from reading 1 book a mounth to 2-3 a week.
then i started to see it, my spelling was getting better, much better!
it carried on like this for a while until, i got instagram.
i started carring about comments, likes and followers more than my love for reeding and this blog.
you know how i took 2 mounths off writing? that was because of instagram. okay, i didnt stop reeding completly but i started reeding books that just were not on my level. not that i was a genius but i was better than the shopoholic series. (what i was reeding)
about a mounth later i did a horrible thing to a friend and got my phone and instagram taken away well i took them away from myself and brought a nokia brick. then i went on holiday with my family and thats when i got back into reeding. without instagram and my phone, i had nothing else to do but read. That holiday i reed some of the best books ever;
-love Simon
-leah on the offbeat
-the upside of unrequited
-the murder on the orient express
-little woman
-13 minutes
-turtles all the way down
if that list looks like a little too much I recommend just reading 13 minutes and turtles all the way down
since then, I've not stopped reading. at the moment I'm reading miss Ps home for peculiar children and after that, I'm reading the perks of being a wallflower.
you can find all these books on Amazon.
please share this blog with anyone struggling with spelling.
